MY BIRTHDAY

I almost forgot to tell you...in the midst of the move - I had a birthday.
I hear your good wishes and applause...thank you, thank you, and thank you.

When I look in the mirror, there is a stranger looking back at me! She looks much older than me, with 'salt and pepper' hair, and 'crow's feet'. (sounds like I'm conjuring a potion!)

The birthdays don't affect me much now. When I met the half way point...face to face, proudly, hands on hips, I announced to this stranger, "TODAY I AM HALF A CENTURY OLD". Then I meandered through the memories of the exciting things I'd seen and done, what I had overcome (cancer included), unbelievable technology changes, the variety of people I'd met, the faithful friends who stood/stand by me, my 2 baby boys who are now magnificent - strong, honest, kind, considerate, loving men, and their children who are precious gifts to the world....there are many more....

Some of you, my legacy, read this blog...Thank you for being you! Thoughts of you make me happy.

Since then +?#x)*^? years have passed (quickly). I still love the 'me' in the mirror and the 'me' I feel inside (who looks much younger). I'm still proud of me. I repent of my mistakes and thank God for each day.

HERE'S TO ME ... MAY I LIVE LONG AND PROSPER!
