VICTIMS OF FORECLOSURE

The local news broadcast brought it to my attention (and hopefully yours) that there are families losing their homes and each other. These families consist of people and their pets. If you are a pet owner or an animal lover, you understand the pain of separation from them.

The particular case shown on the report is a woman who had a heart attack, could no longer work, and lost her home. Without money, she and her 4 small dogs were forced to live in her pickup truck. When she could no longer care for the dogs, she took them to the Humane Society to care for them until she could get them back. The problem is that after 30 days the animals must be surrendered.

I'm sure there must be other cases like this. I'm just as sure there must be ways to help.

You may have the same situation as mine, where you are not allowed a pet in your apartment, or you are allergic to animal hair, or etc.... If we can't care for them, maybe we can help those who can. How about calling your local Humane Society and ask what you can do to help. It may not seem like much, but to those who are worried about the possible permanent loss of their pet, it's 'huge'.

OR Maybe you're not in the same situation, maybe you can bring a pet home and take care of it until it's owner can. Just be sure you don't get toooo attached.
