Science is proving more each day that your happiness depends on your attitude. A small percentage is hereditary, another small percentage is environment, but the largest part is the "you inside".
Spend thirty minutes each day quietly rehearsing the kindnesses, the good things in your life, and feeling gratitude. After sixty days of this practice, there will be changes in your brain directly relating to your level of happiness. So, YOU can control your happiness.
Sometimes it's hard to block out thirty minutes, but it's worth it. For me, it is early in the morning when I am the only one awake. Maybe you can squeeze it in while the children are in school. If you work, find a quiet place on your lunch break. (Previously, I would sit in my car facing the ocean and eat lunch - a great combination solitude, food, and a soothing view.)
If you can't find thirty minutes to yourself, how about two fifteen minute blocks. However you can, make the time. Your happiness and that of others may depend on it.
You are not alone, we all affect each other.
