At this time so many people are suffering losses, their homes, their jobs, and in the process they are losing hope. Most of us are not able to help because we are in the same situation.
There are a few things we can do. We can pray (in whatever manner we choose) and send loving thoughts their way, we can encourage them with kind, uplifting words, and we can listen.
I shared with a friend and after listening, their response was to tell me about someone selling tumbleweed on the Internet as a means of supplementing their income. It was a big help to me. No, I'm not selling tumbleweed, but I chuckled and felt better. Plus it opened my mind to other possibilities.
Sometimes we need to share our feelings with another person, friend or stranger, just to get them outside of our self and hear them spoken. If that person really listens and pays attention, not just commiserates, it helps. We can be that listener.
