A LETTER TO MY PARENTS

Dear Mom and Dad (also known as Granny and Pop),

What do you think of the newest member of the family?  Isn't he beautiful!

No Dad, he doesn't look like a 'little old man' like his grandfather did! He looks a lot like his daddy, which is difficult to predict considering he is only 3 days old!  This is your first great, great grandson - WOW! And my first great grandson DOUBLE WOW!

The 'little man' is born to two very special people. His daddy is still in the Army. (Thanks for 'watching over' him while he was in the war-zone.) He is a good man, solid and steadfast, a wonderful husband (and daddy now).
You always knew your granddaughter was an amazing person,(that chunky little girl with the curly hair who sat in your lap and listened to you read her book or sing your Irish tunes). Her dad and I remember all the fun you two had with her, and how much you have always loved her. She is an amazing woman now. I call her my 'shining star'.

As the family grows I become more overwhelmed with emotion. They are all loving, caring, kind and gentle souls. We all think of you and talk about you frequently. You were the building blocks for all of this. YOU DID GOOD!!

I realize that you already know all this. I just felt the need to tell you.  Thanks for all you have done and continue to do for us. We know you are watching over us. We miss you.

     Written with love and gratitude,

             Your daughter
                   Joan

P.S. The boys miss you. Your younger grandson has a neat family, very talented, musically and artistically.  Guess they got that from you two!!!

You totally made me cry!! What I wouldn't give to have Granny and Pop here to see their great, great grandson. I know they are watching him from Heaven though. Love you!!
