ACT OF KINDNESS

Sometimes it's the small things that have the biggest impact.

"The day we moved from Virginia to Rhode Island was hard. My husband, a Navy commander, was deployed, so I was alone with our two young kids and trying to finish packing and cleaning. I was exhausted by late afternoon but still had to pick up our car (which was getting an oil change) and scrub the floors before we left. I didn't know how I'd get it all done. When I got back with the car, there was my neighbor Lisa, another military wife, on her hands and knees, scrubbing my kitchen floor. I started crying. It was one of the nicest things anyone ever did for me during my husband's 16 years of service."
