LEARNING

This 'recession' has helped me remember many things, not discounting the obvious. For example, we don't have cable due to the expense ( we made the choice between cable and the internet -you are currently experiencing our decision ). We do watch DVD's, many that we already owned, and many borrowed from the library. We read a lot now ( books borrowed from the library ). We walk whenever possible.  Fortunately we live near restaurants, a shopping center and a Pharmacy, but we walk in the neighborhood every evening just to enjoy the sunset and greet the neighbors. We do drive to Mc Donald's on Wednesdays when we eat out ( both of us for less than $7.00 ).

Am I complaining? - absolutely not.

We discovered that this lifestyle certainly has it's good points: we spend much less money, we are using our brains and bodies, and we are eating healthier ( even at Mc D's - I love their apples for dessert ).From what I see and read, many of you are doing the same things, and enjoying it.

My hope for all of us is that we hold on to our rediscovered lifestyles and become happier, healthier, and a community again.
