HAPPY THOUGHTS

It is more difficult to be happy these days with the price of gas , the 'depression', the strange weather, .... So, here are some happy thoughts.

When I was a toddler I had three memorable 'D's' in my life - my Doll, my Dog and my Duck!

My doll was purchased for me when my parents learned that I could be expected in nine months. She was given the same name I would be given. She stayed on their bed until I arrived. Then she was mine, all mine. I can't remember her with clothes, only her stuffed cotton body with her beautiful bisque face. She was my friend. When I attempted to run away from home at age five, she was packed in my suitcase along with my swim suit. (that was all I packed - heading for a warm place I presume!)

My dog was soooo cute. Her name was Snookie. She was a rat terrier. I liked her a lot but never had time to bond with her. My parents gave her to a friend.
I discovered blood on the floor and cried because I thought she was hurt - really, she was in 'heat'. Unprepared to explain this to a toddler, they said she had to go to the hospital.

I didn't miss her because she was quickly replaced by THE DUCK!

Last, but very memorable, was the duck. Yes, it was a real duck, bought as a duckling for Easter. It grew quickly. I can't remember it's name, but I will always remember it following me around and pulling my pants down. It just waddled along behind me and bit at my pants until they came down. I would get mad and tell it "NO", but as soon as I pulled them up, the game began again. That was a 'love/hate relationship'.

This could have been the inspiration for the Coppertone commercial!

I hope these little snipits from my early days give you happy thoughts.

Now, it's your turn to give some happy thoughts to others - including me ( just leave them in the 'comments' below) PLEASE.
