Here we are in the "post-holiday" doldrums. In one way we are thrilled to get back to a normal routine, the kids in school, the meals smaller and easier to fix, and the stress lessened. But, for some strange reason, we have replaced it with the blahs! Our "joy to the world" took a nose dive into "boo hoo". "We spent too much money on gifts, now our budget is all messed up; we shouldn't have invited Uncle Mike over, he was so obnoxious; the toys are already broken; I'M EXHAUSTED".
If I'm feeling this way, others must be feeling it too. IT'S TIME FOR SOME KINDNESS.
First - get some rest. Prop up your feet, drink a cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows, put on a DVD - a funny one, and laugh out loud.
Now that you have relaxed a little, make another cup of the same, grab that DVD, and take them to the neighbor. If they offer for you to join them - do it, and laugh together.
Share laughter. It's a great way to chase away the "blahs".
