"Good Morning Sweetie. Just seeing you in the morning makes me happy."
"Your smile lights up the room ."
"What a good idea. You're so smart"
It feels so good to receive a compliment. It also feels good to give one. But be aware, complimenting can be contagious!
Try it on your family. Okay, so we all wake up with "bed hair" and bad breath, but we can still be happy to see each other.
Today, you smile first then when someone responds in kind tell them how much you appreciate their smile. Tomorrow, they may smile first!
We are quick to tell our children how smart they are, but what about our spouse or parent. They're smart too. One compliment from us may encourage them to become more involved.
Our appearance is important; however, too many of us have our self esteem entangled with our looks. It is nice to know that your eyes are pretty or you're having a great hair day. It's even nicer to know you are sweet or generous or kind or smart or.... something that is deeper. There is a big difference between "you look pretty" and "you are beautiful". When we feel good inside, we hold our head up and walk taller. In turn, this stature makes us look better.
So, compliment the "inside" first, then it will add to the reason to compliment the "outside".
